SEND and Inclusion

Our SENDCo is Mrs Bethany Holmes.

If you would like to meet with Mrs Holmes, an appointment can be made with her through our school office or alternatively, please use the following link… Book time with Bethany Holmes: SENCO

From November 2027, Mrs Holmes will be on Maternity leave for the remainder of the year. Mr Joshua Annable will be taking over this role for that period. He can be contacted in the same ways, using the SENCO email address or the link above.

All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils’ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

The four broad ‘areas of need’ are defined as:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Sensory and Physical Needs

Whole School Provision Map for SEND

St Georges CVA WHOLE SCHOOL PROVISION MAP MAY 2026

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to thrive. Our Whole School Provision Map explains how we identify, assess and respond to the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It provides information about the support, strategies and interventions available across the school, helping parents and carers understand how we work together to meet each child’s individual needs. We encourage families to explore the above document and contact us if they would like to discuss the support available for their child.

A change in terminology and platforms

From September 2026, all SEND plans will now be referred to as ‘Individual Support Plans’. This coincides with the proposed changes in the Government’s SEND White Paper.

Moving over from Edukey to INSIGHT for all

Another change from September 2026 at St George’s is that we will no longer be using the platform called Edukey to log all of the SEND plans, extra interventions and provisions we put in place for our pupils. We will now be using a system called INSIGHT.

INSIGHT is a much simpler system to navigate and allows you to access your child’s plan using just their date of birth rather than having to remember your log on details. This plan will only be available to view from the email address the class teacher sends it to so please do make sure our office records are fully up to date.

Here, you will also be able to view their targets and share your feedback directly through the system.

We would really encourage you to take the time to review these documents and respond where possible. Your views and feedback are an important part of your child’s support and can be included in their paperwork. This helps us to ensure that their provision reflects their needs and can also provide valuable information if support from outside agencies is required in the future.

Made with Padlet
