What is the Faith in Action Award?
The award encourages young people to recognise how they can live out their faith through simple acts of kindness, service, and reflection. At the Pin Level, children begin to explore what it means to put their faith into action, both within school and in the wider community. Our pupils have embraced opportunities such as helping with liturgies, volunteering, and supporting fundraising efforts, all while reflecting on how their actions demonstrate the love of Jesus. Through these experiences, they have grown in understanding of how faith can be lived out through everyday choices and how it deepens their relationship with God.
Our Achievements
Our fabulous Year 6 children proudly achieved the Pin Level of the Faith in Action Award this year! They completed four action points, putting faith into action in school and the community. Their Faith in Action journals received personalised feedback, and they were awarded certificates and badges for their efforts.

Action Point 1: To be positive role models of the Catholic Life and Mission of St George’s CVA
The Faith in Action target focused on encouraging pupils to be positive role models of the Catholic Life and Mission of St George’s CVA. Year 6 children explored how they could live out their faith through service, reflection, and leadership, inspired by Jesus as a servant king. They took part in activities such as maintaining prayer areas, supporting charities, and celebrating key liturgical events. Through personal reflections and group discussions, they considered how their actions reflect Gospel values like kindness, humility, and love. This helped them understand their role in building a welcoming, faith-filled school community rooted in Catholic teaching.
Action Point 2: To be co-workers with Christ and serve our local community
The focus of this Faith in Action target was Service, encouraging children to become co-workers with Christ in building the Kingdom of God on earth. Pupils reflected on Jesus’ teachings and how He served others with compassion, healing, and love. They were inspired to carry out acts of kindness in their own community, such as collecting and delivering harvest donations, creating mindfulness art for care homes, and making cards for Ukrainian refugees. Through discussion and reflection, they considered how faith influences behaviour, and how they can live out Gospel values to promote justice, peace, and love in the world.
Action Point 3: To be Pilgrims of hope during the year of Jubilee
The focus of this Faith in Action target was ”To be Pilgrims of Hope, during the Year of Jubilee”. Pope Francis declared this special year, celebrated every 25 years, to bring people closer to God, offer forgiveness, and remind them of His love. The “Pilgrims of Hope” theme for Jubilee 2025 emphasizes a shared journey of trusting God and improving the world. Based on Luke 4:18-19, 2024 is dedicated to prayer, gratitude, and seeking guidance for loving others and caring for Earth.
Action Point 4: To be activists to protect the environment, support others, and show gratitude for God’s creation.
The focus of this Faith in Action target was “To be activists to protect the environment, support others, and show gratitude for God’s creation” , encouraging children to align with the “10 years of Laudato Si’” celebration. This initiative, inspired by Pope Francis, emphasizes caring for Earth as our shared home and addressing global issues like pollution and waste. Children are encouraged to protect nature, use resources wisely, and support those in need.
